Recent Favourites

0

At the end of each month, I see an abundance (its a funny word, abundance. I dont know why. I remember the exact English lesson in which I learnt it and since then it has just stuck. Anyway...). At the end of each month, I see an abundance of *insert month* favourites popping up on my Bloglovin dashboard or in my YouTube subscriptions.

Dont get me wrong, I love looking at what types of things people have been loving; it gives me ideas for things to try. But I ask myself each and every month, how on earth do people have a bunch of favourite things every single month?!? Am I the only one who uses the same things for a good few months? That is probably because once I find something that is a favourite I usually end up sticking with it as I dont see the point in moving onto another thing.

Recent Favourites

So I thought Id share a bunch of things that Ive been loving over the past few months. It would be pretty ironic if a few days after writing this, I have a complete change of heart and end up absolutely loving a bunch of other things. Oh well, I dont plan on doing monthly favourites, they may be more like here is a collection of things that Ive been loving for x amount of time ... or the easier title of recent favourites.

Dry brushing

1. Dry Brushing

Wow. Just wow. Id heard of dry brushing a while back but thought it would be painful, scratching a brush against dry skin. But, I picked up this amazing brush in boots a few months ago and Im so happy I did! This little baby is used about 3-4 times a week, a whole lot more than when I just used normal body scrubs, and my skin is looking and feeling pretty darn good since I started. Ill let you read about the benefits of dry brushing here, but I will say that its so much easier to exfoliate as there is no mess - unlike when using sugar scrubs.

Coconut oil

2. Coconut Oil

Coconut oil has been a favourite of mine for a while but over the past few months Ive started using it as a hair treatment and ooo my hair feels so soft after doing so. Typically, I try to apply it once a week, but sometimes I forget, and I usually put it on in the morning then leave it on all day with my hair tied up in a bun whilst I lounge around all day (like most days).

3. Tea Tree Oil

Speaking of things to help the hair, Ive recently been adding a drop of tea tree oil to my shampoo about once or twice a week. Tea tree oil helps with hair growth, hair fallout and dry scalps. We all suffer with our little problems and I suffer with a dry scalp (thanks genes) but Ive noticed quite an improvement since using it and I dont have so much hair fallout when I brush my hair.

Tangle Teezer

4. Tangle Teezer

Following swiftly on, once again, with another hair favourite...the tangle teezer. Yes, Im well aware that Im like 3 years late to the hype but at least I joined aye? This little beauty has been a god send in the breezy weather of Britain. I also find it so much easier to keep clean than a regular brush, which is fantastic because loose hairs literally make my skin crawl (even more so when they are wet loose hairs, urgh)

Slip on plimsolls

5. Slip On Plimsolls

I have been living in these for the past 2 months, they are so darn comfy! They are perfect summer footwear for people like me, who dont like showing a whole lot of their feet. They are comfy, practical, go with most things and were only £10!!! Thats all I have to say.

Fine tipped coloured pens

6. Coloured Fine Tip Pens

These little bad boys got me through my revision over the past couple of months. Their fine tip meant I could write with them and it didnt end up taking up half the page as well as looking neat. Who doesnt love a good bit of stationary?

Adult Colouring

7. Colouring

Yes, Ive joined the trend. Ive seen adult colouring books popping up all over the place but havent picked one up, instead I just printed a bunch of random pictures. Its so relaxing to just colour away and if youre anything like me and cant just sit a watch a program or film and need to be doing something with your hands, colouring is perfect as it doesnt take any concentration.

Ripe bunch of bananas

8. Bananas

Of course I had to include food favourites. For quite some time now, I have been in love with bananas and Im always stocked up so that I have a bunch ripening whilst Im munching away of the already ripe ones. Eat your bananas ripe and spotty people, they are more easily digested!! I love making creamy banana porridge or my new found love of banana nice cream.

Potatoes

9. Potatoes

Okay, this one may seem a little strange, but I potatoes have become kind of an obsession. More specifically, oil free potato wedges (aka my most eaten meal over the past few months).

What I Ate Today Vegan

0

Im back again today with another What I Ate Today post. One, because I love watching/reading them. Two, because I love sharing my meals. Three, because they are great for inspiration.

In my previous what I ate, I mentioned that I was 95% plant based. But then like a few days later, I was just like nope, Im not supporting the dairy or egg industry. So Im now 100% vegan. Im thinking of maybe doing another post on it; Id love to know if you guys are interested in that.

What I Ate Today | Vegan

Anyway now onto what I ate the other day (because then I have time to edit the photos and write the post without feeling rushed like I would be if I shared on the same day).

Breakfast

I started my day the same as any other by drinking as much water as I felt I needed the moment I woke up, then made a cup of tea followed by my lemon tea - gotta get hydrated in the morning! Just so these posts dont get monotonous, Im not always going to include pictures of them.

Afterwards, I made myself a delicious mango and banana smoothie bowl - literally on of my favourite things, but I dont have it often as mangoes can get expensive (hmmm, I may need to start bulk buying). Let me tell you, the mango I used was so sweet and juicy, perfectly ripened! I remember when I first tried mango, I hated it! Why? Well it was because it wasnt ripe.

I topped the smoothie bowl with some oats, coconut and dried figs (which I used up and need to pick up some more, but Lidl has stopped selling them and they were so cheap at only 50p for quite a lot - sad times).

Lunch

It was one of those days were hunger just crept up on me, so a quick lunch was needed. This is one of my go to meals - brown rice, peas, sweetcorn, spinach and spices. So simple, yet so delicious!

Spiced Rice & Veg - What I Ate Today | Vegan

Tea

Tea was a little bit of recipe testing and this was the creation - a green goodness pie (there will be a recipe in the future)

Green Pie - What I Ate Today | Vegan

Snack

I love having some kind of snack and lately these double chocolate shortcakes by minimalist baker have been my obsession!  I find they are a lot like scones and love topping them with a bit of strawberry jam. They are becoming an addiction, Ive probably gone through about a batch a week (by myself)

Of course I had to have my cup of tea with them - perfect way to end the day. Yes, I drink my tea through a straw. Dont judge.

New Stage Life Update

0

Its weird to think that in just a few days Ill be packing up the car with most of my belongings and moving just over 2 hours away from home. This time next week Ill be at university.

Growing up, I was never that interested in going to uni, I thought Id just finish college and go straight into a job or apprenticeship so that I could learn whilst doing. But, around March last year, a few months into my AS levels, I started to really enjoy learning about psychology. This then got me thinking about possibly pursuing further education to learn more about it and here I am today with only a few days left before I do pursue it.

But please, dont ask me what I want to do with life, what do I want to do after uni etc because in all honesty, I have no idea. I know that I enjoy studying the subject but have no clue where I want to go with it. Thats OK isnt it? To be honest, I dont even know where Im going with this post, I just wanted to have a bit of a ramble, chatty post. The kind of things I talk to myself about.

Currently, Im feeling a complete array of emotions. Im so frickin excited, but at the same time Im terrified. Im really happy to be moving away and meeting new people, but also sad to be leaving all my many friends (dat sarcasm,). Its weird. And, yes, I know everyone feels the same or, to put it like everyone says, everyone is in the same boat. Can I just say that saying that makes no impact on me at all, it really doesnt help ease the nerves or anything - but hey, thanks for the effort of trying.

Packed Car | Moving To Uni
Source
Like many others, although Im looking forward to it, Im also worried about the whole meeting new people, making new friends thing. Im quite quiet. Shy. Introverted. I like having those one or two people around, you know, that certain friend or two who you, in social situations, make you feel more comfortable and you can fall back on them to have a conversation with so you dont look awkward. Ive named them the social rock friend. (Friend, you probably know who you are, if you happen to be reading this then shout out to you. Thanks for being my social rock).

However, I wont have anyone I know around which is both and good and bad thing. Its bad because there is the risk of me staying in my shell. But on the other hand, its good because Ill be forced not to rely on others in situations and be my own social rock (I just wont be able to have conversations with myself, as that would be weird whilst around new people).

So, yeah, meeting new people will be a thing, but also Ill be living with people - which I feel like will get some getting use to. Thankfully, I have a room to myself, I genuinely dont know how Id cope if I had to share with someone because I need alone time. Seriously, if I was around people almost 24/7, I think Id break after, at the very least, 3 days!

There is only one other girl Im aware of that Ill be living with, the others either arent in the facebook group or have seen me and been like oh dear, I think Ill see if I can change flats.

But one thing I am wondering is what the whole kitchen situation will be like. Im probably going to sound quite selfish saying this, but I can get a little possessive of any belongs - even food and drinks. And currently, Im not really feeling the whole sharing, communal living thing. Who knows, my flatmates might feel the same way, or they could want to share everything. Ill be fine! As I keep telling myself.

Of course, I have to mention that Im looking forward to focusing on just one subject that I enjoy, you know how it is blah blah blah. But I just dont know what to expect with the workload and everything. Also, not really concentrating or learning for like 3 months (I know thats nothing for those who have taken gap years) feels very odd, I feel in some sort of hovering stage. Im guessing itll take me a good few weeks to get back into the swing of things.

Okay, I think Ive rambled enough. Im just going to leave you with a nice cheesy quote about new beginnings.

New beginnings quote - Let yourself move to the next chapter in life when the time comes. Dont remain stuck on the same page.

A Kick Up The Bum I Need Your Help!

0

To welcome in the month of September, how is it September already (how very cliche of me), I thought Id share a little reader survey in hope that you guys will fill it in. Ive been thinking of doing one for a few weeks, to help get a better understanding of who my audience is, the things you enjoy reading and opinions on Nimble Note as a whole.

Recently, Ive been feeling a little unsure about the content on Nimble Note. What I mean is, I enjoy blogging but lately Ive felt in a little bit of a rut as well as feeling a little apprehensive about sharing content. For example, Ive had/have ideas but cannot find the right words to formulate those ideas into a post, or sometimes feel as though the content wont be appreciated or received in the way Id like, or that the content is too generic or too little effort.

Reader Survey

Im not writing that as a way to make you answer a certain way on the survey, I just wanted to explain the reason behind conducting one. I love blogging. I love having this Hannah Montana life where I have my own little creative bubble on the internet, that family and friends dont know about. But a little feedback on the bubble and guidance on where to take it would be greatly appreciated.

September is a busy month for me as Im trying my hardest to finish up a project, Ive been working on since the beginning of July, as well as trying to prepare for moving away to university. Ive got some content ideas lined up for the remainder of the month, so that Im prepared, but Id like to keep up this scheduling malarkey afterwards as well - so you could say that this survey is kinda like the kick up the bum for Nimble Note (I already made some changes to the design after much deliberation and procrastination).

Please click on the button below or here, it will only take a few minutes!

Im only making 15 in AdSense a month what do I do next

0

Im only making $15 in AdSense a month, what do I do next?

You need to increase your traffic.
Play around with ad placement. AdSense has general tips on the best ad placements. Also specifically for blogs and forums.
Diversify your ad providers. Try an ad network like Adbrite or BlogHer Ads. [Editors note: Heres a list of 60+ ad networks and affiliate programs.]
Listen to the market. If you get direct sales inquiries, you should start doing that. If your review articles are good, try affiliate sales.

How long did it take you to make $100?

Our flagship site, Wise Bread, took 3 months to go from $0 to $100. But your results may vary, especially if youre a solo blogger. It might take 6 - 12 months.

How do you choose which ad network to partner up with?

Get recommendations from other people. I look at who is using them. Are the big bloggers endorsing this network? What do the bloggers in our niche use?
Some things I use to evaluate an advertising network are the user interface and their current advertisers. Do they have advertisers that work well for our topic? For the user interface, I want an easy way to deal with unwanted ads.

I want to start selling ads directly. Where do you find these direct advertisrs? Were not a big site so people dont come to us.

Create an "advertise here" page.
Get bigger (so youre more attractive to advertisers) and try to get known within your industry. Specifically, itll be PR and marketing people you want to make contact with. Go to conferences. Be active in your niches blogosphere. Basically, you need to network. Look at the bigger blogs in your niche and approach them. Write a guest post for them or be a good commenter. If the biggies know you, they will link to you, and you increase your reach and influence.
Another great way to reach ad buyers is to join a network of blogs for your niche. For example, in the personal finance niche, theres the Money Blog Network and the The Money Writers . There are similar associations in every niche. If there isnt one for your topic, you can start one yourself!

What should go on the advertise page?

1. Rates and placement. The Gothamist networks specs/rates page does this well. They show you where the ads will appear. Even if your rates arent public, show advertisers what their options are.
2. Brag sheet. List prominent mentions and links, showcase your popular posts, point to hot comment threads, etc. You want to show your authority and influence. If you have the traffic numbers
3. Traffic and subscriber numbers. Advertisers are looking for monthly page views (and unique views) and feed or email subscribtion counts. Even if you dont have big traffic, you should publish these stats on your advertise page. They give potential advertisers an idea of how you fit into their budgets and marketing campaigns.
4. Demographics data. Gawkers audience page is very detailed. You can get most of this info by asking your readers in a survey or using a free service like Quantcast.

How do you know what to charge for direct advertising?

From experience. Trial and error. Start at around $5 CPM and move it up or down based on the responses you get (or dont get) from potential advertisers.
Talk to other bloggers in your niche to see what they charge. (This is another benefit of joining a network of bloggers in your niche.)
You can also use what the major ad networks. Double it (since networks take half) and then give 20% off.
Look at rate cards of top sites like Gawker as a guideline.
You also need to take fill rate into account. You might make more money charging a high rate (and filling less of your inventory). Or you might make more charging less and selling out. Your goal is to maximize your total revenue, so the price of a single impression is not your only concern.

Should I make my rates public?

It depends. If you want to have flexibility, then dont publish. You want to talk to the advertiser directly to work with them.
If you dont have a lot of time, or have standard ad sizes and dont want to negotiate, then public rates are a good way to weed people out.

What do you do when advertisers are unhappy with the results?

Weve always had good experiences with advertisers because we work with them to make sure theyre happy.
Advertisers may not have realistic expectations. Clearly communicate what you offer before the campaign starts, and talk to them during the campaign too.
Dont panic when they complain. Work with them to change creative or campaign.
Give them a discount on future campaigns if you have to.

How to Build a Somewhat Successful Blog 16 Lessons I Have Learned

0

How to Build a Somewhat Successful Blog: 16 Lessons I Have Learned

by Henrik Edberg
This blog has almost 4000 subscribers via RSS and email and a few thousand visitors a day.
It’s the 4176:th most popular blog according to Technorati.
It has over 150 posts and over 800 comments from readers.
After a year of blogging I’m pretty satisfied with the results.
And over these last 12 months I’ve learned a thing or 16 about blogging.
Some of these 16 lessons may be of use for you even if you are not a blogger. You can probably apply them to many other areas in life such as your business or relationships.
I will not delve into the money-aspect of this blog.
You can find good resources elsewhere if you want monthly breakdowns of visitors and money earned.
They may give you an insight into how you can monetize your blog and also how much you can earn.
Two such blogs are Genius Types and John Chow.com.
1. Provide value.
This is the most important factor in creating a successful blog. You have to provide some value to your readers for them to want to read your blog and come back for more. What is providing value? It´s the content you create. Or a service you provide. For me it has been writing articles with practical tips that you can use to improve your life. For a videogame-blogger it may be to write in-depth reviews of new games. For a celebgossip-blogger it may be to have the latest scoop about Britney.
You create something that has value to your reader. And the more value you create the more people will notice your site, recommend it to friends and link to it. And you will get more and more new and regular readers. How do you know what has value? Well, put yourself in the shoes of your reader. What do you think s/he would really like to read about? What could help him or her in some way in life? The more value a post can give to your reader the more popular it is likely to be.
However, I don´t think you can just create value in some form and stop at that. It’s the most important factor in creating a popular blog. It’s however not the only important one.
2. Market your blog.
When you first start out blogging no-one except your family and friends may know about your blog. How do you get attention and those first visitors?
I found that commenting on blogs or forums in your niche was an OK way to get a few visitors. A better way to get a small trickle of visitors is to submit your articles to one or eleven blogcarnivals.
Some other methods of the top of my head are to just email other bigger bloggers in your niche and tell them about your blog and your best articles. Or to submit – or let a friend submit – your best material to a social bookmarking site like Digg or Stumbleupon.
You can’t sit around just hoping people will find your blog. You have to create good content and then you have to tell people about that content. However, if you have a new blog you may want to create some content – like 5-10 good and valuable posts – before you really start promoting it. An almost empty blog may leave a leaving visitor with a bad first impression.
3. Learn from more experienced people.
This is so key – in any area of life really – and can really help you to improve quickly and avoid wasting time. I recommend not only subscribing to the two excellent resources called Problogger (about blogging) and Copyblogger (about communicating better and more persuasively). I also recommend delving into the archives of these two blogs.
When I started blogging I spent two or three weeks reading lots and lots from the massive archives of Problogger. I learned a lot about blogging, marketing, monetization and what you should and should not do. Before I started this blog I knew very little about blogging. After those weeks I at least had a basic education that was very helpful. If you are thinking about creating your own blog or have just started one I recommend reading the big series Blogging Tips for Beginners over at Problogger.
4. Optimize.
Like with any other area in life it’s important that you learn from your own past and mistakes and from others. And that you then improve and optimize your blog, business or diet. Don’t forget about this part, think about what worked well the last few months and what did not. Think about what you learned about headlines, social bookmarking and color-schemes. Then experiment and try to optimize the different parts of your blog.
5. Be patient.
We often tend to miscalculate how much time is required to reach the desired result. Don’t buy into myths about quick success. Don’t buy into your own calculations or fears too much either. Study other bloggers and learn how their audience have grown. Create reasonable expectations. Be patient and keep on creating, marketing and optimizing your blog.
6. First impressions matter.
The most important part of your article is your headline. A bad or boring headline will not entice a whole lot of people to click and start reading. A good one will. Copyblogger have written some useful articles on how to create better headlines. Have a look at 10 Sure-Fire Headline Formulas That Work and How to Write Magnetic Headlines. John at Pick the Brain did a case-study about the importance of a good headline here.
The second most important part of your article is the first few sentences. This is something I still need to improve quite a bit in my articles. Here’s a Copyblogger article about 5 good ways to start your post.
7. Formatting is pretty and important.
Instead of just dumping your text as one big blob into a post use such things as subheadings, lists and white space. It makes your content so much more attractive and increases readability.
8. People aren’t just angry or hostile online. Quite the opposite.
Out of all the feedback I have received very little was hostile, angry or nasty. So don’t let your fears about what people may say stop you from posting or starting your own blog.
9. Don’t think about what everyone else may think.
After your first big wave of new regulars has arrived you may start to experience a sort of stage fright. You may think “Oh, now I have a hundred regular readers, a hundred Joes and Marys waiting for some new content”. And then you start second-guessing yourself and worry that someone will be upset, mock you or that you will somehow screw up big time.
I try not to think too much about how many readers there may be. Or what they will think. When I write I either think about it as discussion that I have with myself or something I am writing to just one reader. Or I just focus on the fun and excitement of the article I am writing and nothing more. Feeding your own fears will not help anyone.
10. Making posting a choice, not a must.
People won’t disappear just because you don´t post for a few days. If you need a break take it. The world will not collapse, but you and your motivation may if you push yourself too hard.
11. Future posting is your friend.
In WordPress you can set the date and time for a post to appear on your blog. So if you are going on a vacation for a week you can write a few posts and then spread the posts out over the week. WordPress will take care of the posting while you are skiing in the alps or floating on in the Mediterranean.
12. Don’t spend too much time checking statistics or other blogs.
I spent the first few months of blogging with reading a lot of other blogs and checking my blog-statistics many times each day. I learned a lot but also procrastinated a lot. Today I try to limit how often I check my RSS-reader, email and statistics to twice a day. This tip was helpful for achieving that. I’ll probably limit this even more. There are a many great blogs to read but at this point I’m just feeling bored with a lot of things online. It’s just more fun to do other things.
13. Blog consistently.
If I could go back and change one thing then I would probably have blogged more consistently. When I did that readers, subscribers, comments and emails increased pretty quickly. When I blogged inconsistently everything moved slower or not at all.
14. Expect a slump after a few months.
When you first start blogging everything is new, fresh and wonderful. You have no problems coming up with interesting topics to write about. But after a few months – maybe three – you may experience a slump. You are running out of apparent ideas for posts. Your enthusiasm may not be soaring anymore. What do you do? Well, you can blog a bit erratically for a while like I did.
A better choice may however be to find new ideas. I wrote about a good exercise you can use to find ideas for new posts in One Simple Way Get a Great Idea. You may also want to check out 8 Ways to Spark Your Creativity and this excellent post about finding post ideas over at North x East.
15. Don’t clutter your blog.
You don´t have go minimalist to the max but a cluttered blog makes it hard for the reader to find what to focus on. Experiment and try new ideas out. But also think about what widgets and all of that other stuff you really need. Do they add value for your readers or are they just hanging out in your sidebar? Declutter the unnecessary parts and make your blog look more attractive and focused for your readers.
16. When you get a big traffic spike, be prepared.
If one of your posts hit the front page of Digg or Del.icio.us, be prepared. The traffic wave will probably not earn you that much extra money if your blog is monetized. But it can earn you a whole bunch of new and regular readers. Be sure to make it easy to subscribe either via RSS or email. You can for instance use a sentence like the one below with links to your RSS and email-subscription form.

Sharing Some Blogging Love

0

Todays post wasnt meant to be this. I had another in mind, but I just couldnt formulate my thoughts into sentences or even words - which is one of the most frustrating things I regularly come across. Who knows if those thoughts will ever become a post? Maybe they arent meant to be. But instead of dwelling on it, I thought I would share some posts Ive enjoyed reading in the past few weeks and share a bit of blogging love.

Sharing Some Blogging Love | Blog posts Ive enjoyed reading recently - Nimble Note

Lucid Dreaming: A Beginners Guide
Ive often heard references to lucid dreaming, but had no idea that you could train yourself to do it! After reading Tegans post, I have begun putting the steps into practice firstly by dream journalling. It cant say Ive got into the habit of waking up and automatically jotting down dreams just yet, but Im going to try my hardest to as I love reading back over them and remembering them - even though its only been a week, its surprising how fast you actually forget dreams. Have you ever tried or experienced lucid dreaming?

How to Define Success for You
This is just one of those posts you need. A nice little pick me up post. Do I need to say anymore?!

Friendship
I really related to this post by Lauren and let me tell you how good that feels, to know you arent the only one feeling a certain way; when sometimes it feels like you are. It was almost like she wrote from my mind!

15 Unforgettable Bucket List Trips You Can Do On A Budget
Ive wanted to travel for quite some time now. I love pinning cute little destinations or travel tips on pinterest, it just makes you want to hope on a plane or train and take off for a while. Ive recently got into watching psychotraveller on youtube, she shares tips for travelling cheap which are very helpful as it is the only way Id be able to do it.

A few weeks ago, I was actually so close to booking a flight to Amsterdam for either £71 or £91 (I cant remember) and then a hostel for 2 nights for £47?!? But I opted out because Id be going by myself which I didnt want to do because 1) Id prefer to go with someone else for safety reasons, especially if it was my first time travelling and 2) I have no idea about airports and flying as Ive only flown once and that was in a school group so checking in was in a big group. But hopefully I will be able to plan sometime maybe for next year!

What I Ate Today

0

I have a confession to make .... Im obsessed with watching What I Eat In A Day videos on YouTube. I seriously cannot stop! The watch later button keeps getting pressed on almost every video that pops in the what to watch section and suggested videos, and along with other videos I watch, I think my watch list now ranks up to about 80 videos. I am slowly getting through them, but then I add more. This then results in me not doing anything that productive.

As I love watching the videos, I thought Id do something similar myself. Possibly even make it a regular thing. Although, I must say that I am one of those people who can eat the same meals for like 4 days in a row. But hey, if you enjoy it, why not eat it as much as you want.

What I Ate Today

It would probably be helpful if you knew about my diet. No, Im not ON a diet, its just MY diet ( hopefully you understand what Im getting at, its just sometimes when you say the word diet, people automatically associate it with restriction, losing weight etc). I went vegetarian round about the end of March. However, long before this, I came across veganism and I was really interested in it and the fact that people are thriving of fruits, veg etc. Although I was really interested in it, I found it a bit overwhelming when I considered turning vegan. What I mean is, when youve grown up being told to eat that piece of meat to make you big and strong and you need to drink your milk otherwise youll have weak bones and terrible teeth etc, finding that there are so many people have amazing health, energy, great skin and hair and so on feels like a bit of a shock.

After a while of watching people along the likes of Essena Oneill and Bonny Rebecca and following vegan instagramers like superfoodsioban, plantbasedjudy and carolinejuliab, I discovered the ethical side to veganism. Im not going to go too much into it because Im not someone who is filled with a bunch of facts.

So anyway...Im not going to class myself as 100% vegan (yet) because I do sometimes end up in the treat cupboady - which my mum really should stop keeping so stocked up! But overall, I think for the past month I have been eating about 95% plant based. Since doing so, my energy levels have increased quite a lot (but, yes, I still get tired when I stay up to late on YouTube or netflix). Im also doing research into skin care, hair and beauty products which are cruelty free and hopefully contain nothing derived from animals; so that when what I have now is used up, which isnt vegan, can go.

Breakfast

I always start the day by drinking lemon tea - half a lemon squeezed into some warm water. Perfect way to start the day.

Due to the brilliant weather the UK has been having (please stay this way so we can actually have a summer), I decided to finally try out banana ice cream. Oh my goodness! If you havent tried it already, do it! I simply froze 3 ripe bananas overnight then blended them together in the morning - so simple, but so good! I topped this bowl with rawnola and strawberries (because they are amazing at this time of year, plus because of Wimbolden in which my grandma is glued to every year).

Dinner

For dinner I made pasta with meatballs - which I made a few nights before. The recipe I used was by plantbasedjudy - theyre delicious! I also realised, by the time Id heated the meatballs and cooked the pasta, we had run out of passata. So I ended up making the pasta sauce from fresh chopped tomatoes and just mushing them a bit - but it was still very good.

Tea

This meal was one of those what veg can I find in the fridge, lets throw it all into the pan kinda meals - which I do fairly often to be honest. I also went out that afternoon to pick up some passata (because staple!). It ended up being a chilli and was delicious.
