Get outside Watch the sunrise Watch the sunset

Sunset over moors

So I managed to cross off another thing from my summer bucket list, well at least half of one because Ive yet got to find the will power to wake up before sunrise, as well as waiting for a forecast of clear skies (well just use that as the excuse for now). Just my luck that when I changed in my pyjamas the other evening, the weather cleared up after a day a cloudiness and rain, which was rather annoying as Id been out all day. But I couldnt pass up the opportunity so made a spontaneous decision to just head up onto the moors. I quickly changed first, of course.

My brothers came and tagged along and the picture above is the result of saying to them that you need to power walk because the sun was quickly disappearing - they ran ahead. But they kindly waited for me - sibling love (it doesnt happen often).

Oh, the feeling I got when I reached this point and was so close to the top. I was completely and utterly out of breath, but the sun was almost gone so we were determined to carry on.

Whilst having a quick snack once wed reached the top, we watched the sun light up the horizon as the moon rose behind us.

It was that clear that evening that we where able to see Blackpool tower and the sea, which isnt often as its usually too cloudy - baring in mind we live around 33 miles away.

It was a bit of a rushed decision but Im happy I did it and my brothers enjoyed it too and I have some great pictures to show that. But I left them of this blog post because they are utterly embarrassing - we are pulling very attractive faces in all of them.

Hopefully there will be a sunrise blog post coming some time soon.

5 Simple Beauty Tips and Tricks

0

A couple of months back I began slacking on applying face and hair masks, cleaning make up tools and taking care of my skin - other than just my face. Recently, I have gotten back into somewhat of a beauty routine. Back before I slacked I tried and tested quite a lot of different tips and tricks Id come across, these 5 Im sharing today are the ones I came straight back to.

5 simple beauty tips and tricks

1. First of all a honey face mask once every fortnight as honey has many benefits for the skin such as :

    Honey
  • Great for healing spots as it is has antibacterial properties, therefore reduces any infections.
  • Moisturises the skin, making it soft and supple leaving you with a glowing complexion.
  • Can help with anti-ageing as it contains many antioxidants.

I simply apply a thin layer all over my face, avoiding my eye area, and gently massage it in. After 30 minutes I wash it off.

2. Next is using conditioner for shaving. Yes I know it may sound a bit strange, but I find it works better than the shaving creams Ive tried. Just apply a generous amount of any conditioner to dampened skin and once you have shaved wash away any residue and youre left with soft, smooth and moisturised skin.

3. This next trick is something you could use before the tip above to achieve even softer skin, it is an easy home-made scrub. It is something that can be thrown together in a minute, with the added bonus of smelling delicious too!

coconut oil
Simply melt 1tbsp of coconut oil, it only takes a few seconds, then add in 3-4 tbsp of brown sugar, mix and apply to wet skin. The brown sugar gently exfoliates while the coconut oil leaves the skin feeling lovely and soft.

4. Once every fortnight I like to mix in 1tsp of baking powder into my shampoo as this helps clean out any product build up.

5. This last tip is a way to reuse mascara wands, of course wash them first. I like to use them to separate my lashes after applying mascara as I find the it gives an overall better finish than if I was to try and achieve it while using a wand covered in mascara.
